It is Finished...

We here at J Smucker Contracting are very proud of being a faith-based company. What does that mean? It means that the leadership here is made up of born-again Christians who seek God’s guidance in every decision we make.  From how we lead, to how we grow, to the holidays we take as a company, to how we interact with every client or person we meet. We seek to have God’s presence in every aspect of our lives, and since we spend most of our lives working, we want God to be at the center of that too. So, while most of our blogs are commercial roofing related, today won’t be. Today will be about something much more important than things of this earth.

Good Friday

Today is good friday. The day we celebrate Christ’s dying on the cross for our sins. The day we think about the pain and agony he felt when nailed to a cross with thorns on his head. To pay a price for sins he did not commit. For wrongs he did not do. For sinners who did not deserve it. John 3:17 says “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved”. Before this moment, we were condemned. But this sacrifice, this was our pardon. Our salvation. Christ was sent to earth by God, the Father to walk as man. He lived as man. Saving and healing. Teaching and loving. But always knowing this was the end. This was the goal. This was the reason for being here. And up on that cross, he fulfilled his purpose. His mission. “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, ‘It is finished,’ and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (John 19:30)–

Easter

Three days after Jesus died on the cross, and after they put him in a tomb, he arose. Death could not hold him. John 20:1 “Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb” As somber and humbling as Good Friday is…Jesus sacrificed and died for us…Easter Sunday is all about rejoicing. Rejoicing that he rose again and lives!! “Because he lives, I can face tomorrow…because he lives, all fear is gone!” Jesus’s death and resurrection is all we need. Our ticket into heaven. Not works, not money or fame. Knowing, believing, and accepting that Christ our Savior died on that old wooden cross and three days later rose again to return to heaven and prepare a place for us, is all we need. No matter how crazy things get here on earth, no matter how dark things may seem; we have hope!! Hope in our redeemer. Our Savior. Our Lord. The one that goes before us, and speaks on our behalf to his father. Our advocate and defender. The one that died at calvary. The one that said our sins will no longer be our death sentence. So cast your cares, your worries, your hopes, your dreams all on him. Rejoice in his death and resurrection and say it loud and proud “CHRIST IS RISEN!!”

HE HAS RISEN INDEED!! From our family to yours, may the mercies of our Lord and Savior enter your heart mind and spirit and may you and yours have a very Happy Easter
