Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s that time of year! The air is chilly, the days are shorter, and everyone is getting ready to jump headfirst to the holiday season. Thanksgiving is here and everyone is ready! Normally our blogs are tips for your roof, this one will be a little different. This one is a giant thank you letter! A reflection on this past year, and shout out to everything and everyone we have to be thankful for…

Our Clients

This is probably the most obvious one, and one we try to show our thanks for as often as possible. However, I am sure there are times we fall short of that goal. These past few years have been crazy…shutdowns and lockdowns, inflation, surging gas prices, surging and fluctuating material costs, material shortages…..honestly I could sit here for a while and list the complications our company and industry has faced. And if I am being honest, there were plenty of moments of quiet frustration. But we made it through and we continue to make it through each day. And the main reason we do, is because of the tremendous customers we have. You are all the best!! You are loyal, patient, understanding, and the absolute lifeblood of this humble family owned and operated roofing company. When all of the stuff that is out of our control,  sometimes feels too overwhelming…you are the ones that give us the strength to put one foot in front of the other, everyday. We can’t thank you enough for 11 years of loyal patronage, and especially for continuing to trust us for all your roofing needs the past 2 years

Our Vendors

I think it has always been our goal to use as many local vendors for our materials as possible. We feel community is so important, and lifting up each other’s businesses is crucial. But I think during the pandemic, this became even more of a focus. So many long term businesses were forced to shutter their doors due to lockdowns and the economy. And that is heartbreaking and avoidable. Local and small business is vital for every community and we all need to do our part to support them. And our local vendors are the best. They have all helped us navigate the craziness of the past two years and minimized its impact on our clients the best they could. Gap Power, White Horse Machine, AB Martin……the list is long…but we thank you all and also invite clients to always reach out to us for recommendations of vendors as we love to refer to them!

Our Families

Small businesses do not run without very supportive families! There are lots of long hours, missed functions, nights and weekends….It’s never just a 9-5 to keep a small business running smoothly and our customers satisfied and taken care of. And our families are always very supportive and understand that delivering outstanding customer service and quality roofing to our community is our mission and one of our core values. Thank you to you all!!!

Our Lord and Savior

Our leadership team does not hide the fact that this company has been built on our faith. We are a faith based company. We try to lead by our faith. Make every decision based on our faith. And hopefully let our faith shine through each and every client, vendor, and employee interaction that we have from day to day. I am sure we fall short at times of that goal too, but our first core value is “Honoring God in All We Do”….so we strive for that everyday. I don’t think anyone can ever be thankful enough for their salvation through Christ, but we try to express that thanks in every way we can

It can certainly be difficult to count your blessings the past few years. Our country has certainly faced its challenges. But we still get to wake up everyday. With a roof over our heads. Food in our bellies. With the freedom to worship our Lord. With the ability to do a job we can feel good about. To provide for our families……and in the end, if that’s the best it ever gets, then we have done ok. More than ok. We have done great. So this Thanksgiving, when you sit down with your family around you and a table full of delicious food, remember all the things YOU are thankful for. Count them. And also be thankful knowing YOU were a blessing to US!!

And from all of here at J Smucker Contracting, a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
